Welcome to A & M Pump Inc.

Humble beginnings

A & M Pump Inc. was founded by Alan Williams in 1978. Alan came from a well drilling family. He was trained by his father and uncle, who started their company in 1952. Alan would ride the school bus to different job locations and dig trenches or sharpen drill bits for the drill rigs. This was in the days of the cable tool rigs, or as some of the customers would call, a pounder rig. 

Alan struck out on his own and began A & M Pump Inc. in 1978, borrowing $10,000 to buy a wrecked service truck from an insurance salvage yard. He and some friends repaired the truck and Alan, along with his wife Rita, began A & M Pump Inc.

Building a business

Alan ran A & M Pump Inc., providing quality and professional water well services to the public, until 1986, when current owner Lindell Lindsey came on board. Lindell was working for another company running their drill rig when Alan approached him about coming to work for him. Alan and Lindell became great friends and eventually Alan became Lindell's father-in-law.

The company continued to grow and added another service truck. Things continued to move forward and Lindell became co-owner of the company in 1988. Lindell became sole owner after Alan’s untimely passing in the spring of 1990. Lindell lost a good friend, and the customers lost one heck of a well man and friend.

Continuing the family tradition

Even after the loss of Alan, the company has flourished. James (Punky) Rolens who also happened to be Alan’s son-in-law came to work for Lindell in 1990. A & M has continued to keep up with the changes in technology that has taken place in our industry. This is done so that we have the knowledge needed to match you with equipment that best meets your needs both mechanically and financially.

We participate in the Missouri Water Well Association’s continuing education program. This is a voluntary program but we feel it is important to maintain the professional level of service needed so we can provide the best available service to our customers. Lindell has been on the M.W.W.A.’s board for close to 11 years and is currently the vice president of the association.

We do our best to maintain the highest quality of material selections when deciding what materials to use in the well systems that we offer, while trying to provide competitive pricing to you. We approach each job as if it were our own.

The purpose for providing this short history of our company is so you can have some idea about who you are considering for your project. Some companies will advertise so much experience they would have to be 150 years old to have accomplished so many years. We have been fortunate enough to draw knowledge from a lot of very good well repairmen and drillers. Company president Lindsey Lindell has 32 years of experience in the water well industry.
